mines will be better :roll: You ain't even seen 'em yet. =P & that be the reason I got a digital camera first, works out cheaper & faster & is ideal for the use I use it for/have in mind for it, till I can afford a decent SLR & a high quality printer/photo thing & a better digicam. |

i think 'bout the only thing i'd use digital for would be pics that i wouldn't care 'bout if i lost them
stuff like party pics (holy shit, i've got about 15 rolls of film from disposable cameras from high school parties, fun shit), automotive problems, etc.

That's actually what the idea behind my digital was. (snapshots) But I got a really good camera, just in case, which is good, as I've taken some really decent pics with it lately.
I don't even have any film loaded in my "serious" camera right now, but I think that's mostly because I don't have my darkroom set up. I'm too picky to have it developed/printed elsewhere.....

All my older stuff was taken with a traditional film Canon, which I miss dearly (It was stolen) so I do prefer the old fashioned way, but cash flow at the moment does not allow me to travel back down that route yet, so digital works for now, I do find it is pretty decent though, if some what limited.
& for what I am using it for a traditional camera does not fit the bill so ya know...

I have a Pentax that is fully manual and has never let me down. It's been through a LOT of shit, too- I've dropped it in the James, it's bounced off of some rocks, been beaten and abused in various ways. I will NEVER get rid of that camera. Unless it eventually disappears, or bites it.
I'm paranoid about the new one, though. I put the old one through hell, and I don't think this one can stand up to even half of it. So I'm being REALLY careful. For now, at least.

automatic light meter is the only non-manual thing on it
'bout the only thing that is messed up with mine is that there is a smudge on the inside of the view-finder (doesn't show up on the pics, just when looking through the view-finder)
when i first got it, i was real suprised at the quality of the pics, didn't realize that newer does not equal better

Same exact one. They take awesome pics, they're durable, and they're really easy to get accessories for. I think the knocking around screwed my light meter, though, as it runs through batteries at an insane rate. It's no problem- half the time I ignore it anyway.
You're right- I've not seen photos near as good from most of the "better" ones.
