why is remote linking off? Well, if it stores the avatar's on the site like some other boards do, that's a good reason to have no remote linking (the more members, the more avatar's, the more space they take up). Otherwise, another guy I knew had custom ava's and stopped using them 'cos of the bandwidth they took up if I remember right (this was a long time ago...two years ago maybe?). Anyway, he started using gallery ones and that still took up too much bandwidth and got rid of all of it. I noticed he's using it again (different server). In the end, though, it's really all up to Taz because, as we all know, Taz is God, right?  |
