Right, making my life simpler it goes like this.
Gen B2 took a terminal code hit during the second attempt of upgrading it.
So, furk it. This forum is now the main arena for the community.
It's an older model and modded up, so is prone to instability if I play with the code, so what I will do is let you carry on here as per norm while I look into a more reliable intranet based possible set up. One that I can test and run on my machine rather than a server, so then database size isn't an issue. It seems we need a far more accesible and stable home being the alternative.
In the event we get hacked or the code simply dies under the strain I will set up an emergency board as per usual or we can all migrate to one of my pre set up forums used for other areas of my site.

I think so, yes. And GB2 is gone forever!?! It just can't be... I will try and revive that database and set it up again eventually, we need more than one install running at all time anyway, just a few members my get caught in a hop once in a while. Anyone being caught on the hop and who wants to post/maintain a Membership can easily find the site/forum again and read what they should have anyway, especially after I have now updated the Forum entrance page. So not much has been lost, and this looks like it will be a reoccuring thing once in a while, especially due to the unpredictable nature of the software and sizes of the databases I am trying to work with. New means and methods are being looked into though.  |

So, I gotta make a back up Me? To get in if this one can't? No, not here. When I set up a new emergency board, then yes, on that new database if the old Gen B2 one cannot be recovered. Or if we have 2 RV on one of the already set up Skin showcase forums if the shit hits the fan here before I set up new playground and manage to reinstal last back up saved on my harddrive. |

That is what I am working towards now new tools are being learned and other methods persued. Also looked into using more facilities serverside management wise, so it's a crash course with a few bangs as new systems take over or are trialled used. Got a database copy from the other day, all secured and neat, just not copied it into a new database. Because of file size limits I couldn't live run one place and test/facilitate a second working online version, but now that may change if all these server explosions you lot have felt last few days could be well worth it in the long run.Besides - I like coming back to this place, I hadn't gotten used to the new one, and here I'm the Tool Belt Man By the way, /goes on an MySQL management course in a fortnight I prefer it here, which is why I am seriously considering mass hacking the code so It's more mine than the original stuff.
